In 4 to 6 months time, BMP would lose its novelty and no one would really care.
At this point in time, people like me who got the BMP would like to enjoy the elitist sensation of "I have and you don't. Heh."
I have the feeling, reading the wordings of the promotion, Anet will offer it somehow. The phrase "currently have no plans" is back door that may provide a way to do so.
I think Anet will time it well when the novelty and elitist sensation has fade away, and people are numbed again with boredom, or hyped with coming of GW2. Then anet may offer it without much ballyhoo from both sides - if anyone would still care.
/not signed - not within a few months from now.
/signed - a month or two before GW2 is released

My choice was between the box and the BMP. If Anet want to send all the BMP's a nice box for free with the proceeds they would make out of selling the BMP on the market then I could be persuaded to change my mind.
For most it was a concious choice. I feel sympathy for those who weren't able to make a choice because of no credit card etc, but you can't please everyone all the time.

Heh.. not everyone who didn't buy it during the promotion did so on the premise that it'd suck.
I didn't buy it because I have not, do not, and will not ever have a credit card.
I pay with cash first, Interac second (which you can do ONLINE OMG IT'S NOT A CREDIT CARD AND IT WORKS ONLINE!!!)
My money is hard earned and it's mine, damnit. I'm not paying some 3rd party interest rate out the ass just to buy something for $30 bloody bucks.
And no, to address another reoccuring whine in this thread, not everyone who doesn't have a credit card is underage and/or poor. I spent enough money today to put a kid through college. On Interac. If I can go out and buy a new home theatre system on a whim I'm pretty sure I can afford to spend money on GW's online store.
The thing is.. they just don't want my business. If they did, they'd have more payment options.

/signed - there is literally no good reason why this shouldnt be in the store. Especially for the person who just got started playing GW - why should they have to suffer because they didnt know about the offer.

Erm, no I didn't have four months to qualify for the BMP! See my post on page 18! Some c*** in Brazil cloned my credit card and decided to spend £18,000 on it, which I'm still sorting out 6 months later!
I'd have been more than happy to spend the required amount to qualify seen as how I've already spent well over £70 in the online store, I just couldn't spend it in the required time frame due to the above problem. Although I do think that the very idea of forcing someone to spend a set amount of money in the on-line store to get a bonus pack is a shitty way to treat loyal fans!

they aren't suffering..because they prolly don't even know. just like the sale in last weeks paper. if you didn't see it, you prolly don't miss it.
One good reason why it shouldn't be in a retail store...Manual code key input.
Hundreds, if not thousands of people will by 'extras' for their own private sales, via ebay..amazon..etc..etc..not to mention the scammers that will:
WTS BmP key for 80k...only 10 left hurry.

I'm going with a no since people knew how to get the BMP. I feel that most everyone who didn't make an effort to make sure they got the BMP thought "Well they'll make it available to everyone in a few months, they only did this just so they can get better sales results on GW:EN and i'll just pick it up when they release it to everyone for xx.xx dollars".
That was the point of the promotion....
If you didn't get it then, than don't cry about not having it now.....

Well seeing all the QQ threads on this forum, I would say that Anet would be cruel not to sell the Bonus Pack separately, but then again I wouldn't feel sympathy if this was never to be because of all the reasons already mentioned.
To the OP: So your stating that you have no credit card, low income with not a lot of money left over and yet you want to buy it in-stores for $40. Firstly for Anet to spend more money to ship out these packs is unnecessary. Honestly do you expect them to sell character slots in-stores too? This is just a reward not a whole expansion.

Once again I will stick to what I said before, what would be the point of a promotion if everyone gets it?
So I'm still... you guessed it.

We all had plenty enough time to decide. I didn't get the BMP and don't really have any regrets of not getting it.
We all have choices...live with the ones you've made!
|
Ohh please the choices-argument is getting a bit old.
The only choice that should matter to A.Net is if a person is SUPPORTING GW or not. And the bonus should be for the people that support them - rather then for the people that support them in a certain way.
Because at the end of the day - the only thing that matters is that it was a marketing disaster because many people who love GW couldn't obtain something they really wanted! And it wasn't even a limited edition of something!
And no I didn't decide to get a boxed version of GWEN instead of the on-line one.
I chose NOT to support GW anymore.

I think they should continue the deal they had, buy 30 bucks worth of stuff and get it, I spent that weeks after the promotion had finished, kinda dissapointing they didnt continue it for longer. I suppose it was my fault for not doing it earlier.
